Chilean Abalone Shells
A creamy coloured shell from the abalone farms of Chile. Its is similar in colour, size and thickness to the farmed Australian Abalone with more apricot tones.
Chilean Abalone is used mostly for wooden inlays and thinner shell buttons.
Finish
Natural
Unpolished exterior and minimally-cleaned interior. The Natural finish for Luméa Chilean Abalone Whole Shells preserves the organic lime coating on the back, and the inside retains its slightly rippled, lustrous bronze-like nacre.
Uses
Most commonly further processed into smaller pieces for inlay and shell buttons. The natural lime coating on the back shows the shell in its harvested state and keeps the shell protected on its journey around the world. This can be easily removed to reveal the best natural colours and patterns.
Sizes
70 - 90 mm (2.76" - 3.54")
